What’s the trip about?
Starting off in Medan, Sumatra’s largest city, we make our way to the cool highlands of Berastagi, a mountain town surrounded by volcanoes and farms. We’ll climb Mount Sibayak, a steaming volcano with panoramic views, unwind in nearby hot springs, and stop by the dramatic Sipiso Piso Waterfall, crashing 120 meters into the jungle.
Then we’re off to Lake Toba, the world’s largest volcanic lake. Life slows down here. We’ll cruise around Samosir Island, visit Batak villages, swim in the lake, and learn about one of Indonesia’s most fascinating local cultures.

Welcome to Sumatra. We'll meet at the hotel, have a dinner and get ready for tomorrow. You’ll need your energy for what’s coming.

Day 2
Volcanoes, Waterfalls & Lake Toba
Rise early and buckle up. We’re hitting the road to Berastagi, a little mountain town about 2.5 hours away. From there, you’ll lace up your boots and tackle Mount Sibayak. Don’t worry—it’s only about 2 hours up and down, but the views from the crater rim are worth every bead of sweat. After your victory photo, soak your tired legs in hot springs before grabbing some local grub. Next stop: Sipiso Piso waterfall. This bad boy is one of Indonesia’s tallest at 120 meters, and it thunders straight into the valley below—cue the drone shots. From there, it’s a scenic drive to Parapat and a short ferry across to Tuk Tuk on Samosir Island, smack in the middle of Lake Toba. Tonight, you’ll sleep with lake views and mountain air swirling around you.

Back to Medan
Time to say goodbye to island life. Catch the morning ferry back to Parapat, then settle in for the 4–5 hour drive to Medan. Medan city tour in the afternoon followed by some drinks and dinner in the evening.

Fly to Brunei To Start Borneo Adventure
In the morning we'll take a flight to Brunei arriving in the late afternoon. Check-in to our hotel and get ready for the adventure to continue.
