Beautiful Bhutan

This trip is for all the legends who refuse to let the good times stop rolling! After Bangladesh and India, we’ve set our sights on Bhutan, one of the happiest countries on the planet. Not only are the people here famously content, but the landscapes are absolutely jaw-dropping. We’ve crammed all the must-see spots into a fun-packed schedule, so we can soak up the very best of this tiny Himalayan gem. Trust us, there’s no better time to see the magic of Bhutan!

Day 1

We've just finished an epic adventure through Bangladesh and Kolkata so today you can enjoy a bit of a sleep in. In the afternoon get a good lunch and coffee before we board our evening overnight train headed north to Hasimara.
2

Day 2

We'll arrive in the late morning to Phuntsholing and cross the border from India to Bhutan (pretty bloody cool!), then keep driving to Thimphu (the capital city of Bhutan), and visit Tamchog Lhakhang (a temple dedicated to the 13th-century saint Thangthong Gyalpo), Buddha Point (Kuensel Phodrang), and King's Memorial Chorten (a monument to world peace and prosperity). Evening exploratory walk around Thimphu Main Street, market area, and the Local Crafts Bazaar.
3

Day 3

Today we'll head to Par0 with a visit to the Takin Preserve (home to the national animal of Bhutan) and Simtokha Dzong (the oldest fortress in the country). Drive to Paro and visit Ta Dzong (the National Museum) and Rinpung Dzong (Paro Dzong). In the evening, enjoy a traditional hot stone bath at a farmhouse.
4

Day 4

Today we're exercising. Hike to Taktsang Monastery (Tiger's Nest), a famous monastery perched on a cliffside (you might have seen the photos). Then we'll visit Kyichu Lhakhang, a 7th-century temple. Optional visit to Chele la pass if we have the energy, one of the highest motorable passes in Bhutan.

Day 5

What a trip! We can fly out of Paro anytime today with flights to Delhi, Kolkata or back to Dhaka where it all began.
